A Personal Message from Anthony…
I want to thank all of you for your support and messages over the years. It has been over 5 - 6 years since I started my class and was first featured on Michael Jackson official website…. wow! A long time ago! It has been a lot of fun and I am so happy to see that YOU are happy getting closer to Michael through his dance style.
We will all miss Michael. Michael’s legacy will go on. We will always remember Michael. He was a one of a kind dancer and his style is unique. It’s been part of my life since I was a young child….. that’s what you get when your older brother is Michael Jackson’s official decoy for 10 - 20 years! It’s as if he was part of the family. I remember when, just before church he’d say, “Michael just called”….. A very weird experience… Michael Jackson…THE Michael Jackson!
I’ve been doing what I do…. basically for my whole life! I am proud of that. I am proud that people are finally recognising his genius through his art. It’s human nature, we appreciate something when it’s gone. It’s a pity.
On the morning that Michael Jackson passed away, AEG Live contacted me and asked me if I was interested in promoting Michael Jackson’s “THIS IS IT” show at the o2 arena on the opening night Pre show build up. They asked me to go come down to the arena for a meeting…we were going to talk about building a stage or creating a space for activities at the arena…. they were really trying to make the whole show a great fun experience and obviously I said YES! It wasn’t the first time, Sony have asked me to promote Michael’s official albums before…… but this time it felt different. It was VERY exciting and I was looking forward to be part of THIS IS IT in my own small way. That was about 11.30am on June 25th 2009. My logistical meeting at the o2 arena was set and that was an amazing day. At around midnight I saw all of the reports that Michael was ill and that he later had passed away.
It was a very strange day for me. It’s hard to explain even now.
I am so feel so privileged. Cherish life. None of us live forever. Try and remember that!
My DVD projects, Book writing etc have been on hold for a while whilst I dealt with all of the press issues and just increased activities over the last year or so….it’s been quite exhausting at times, I have to say!
BUT finally! It’s finished! My next DVD…..DVD 2….it’s finally ready and I really hope you enjoy it. DVD 3 will be here a lot sooner, I promise, you will not have as long a wait. Tomorrow, I have my last recording session for my audio book “Dance Like The Stars” and that will here very very soon….something a little different based on the philosophy of physical expression…
I want to thank all the dancers and technical crew that helped me create my new DVD. I would like to thank Ray, Mo, Kai, Beautiful Evy, Simon and Rolfe Clement especially for a great job well done and helping support my vision.
On a separate note! I’m seeing that My little Moonwalk lesson on youtube is one of the most viewed videos of all time. 18 million views! Wow! Thank you….. i’m glad you are enjoying it, as well as all the others…. that is very cool indeed.
That will be ready for you soon. So! I thank you all and I really hope you put on some great Michael music and bust some cool moves! I hope you enjoy my new DVD.
